-Create and submit an XML sitemap for your website

-Interlink your internal pages
-Create and promote fresh content

I think building high quality content will really help you in getting your new website or blog indexed.I was surpised to see one of my new blog backlink indexer got indexed in google without building even a single backlink in 4 days.Otherwise,I will go for rss submissions,then few articles in amazines and goarticles as these articles are getting indexed in like 12 hours or something,so in short try to build backlinks which gets indexed really fast,if you are building baklinks in the purpose of getting your new web property indexed.Then I was wondering since flickr is owned by yahoo,does building few backlinks in flickr with some comments and image description backlink help you in indexing your website in yahoo and bing??
