Twitter - Whats It All About?

Hello Forum,

I have always resisted Twitter as I have never been short of words and find 140 characters a little restricting, but now I have been reading around and seen everyone ranting and raving about it (yes there are negative people too but you get that for everything...I mean look at the daily mail they are negative about almost everything) and it seems it is a great social networking site.

So my question is for people who use twitter, and have been using for a while:

Is it good/How well would the average "joe" do on it?/What is the aim of Twitter?

Twitter is a great social networking application. Its very easy to use and provides a great platform for interaction with others. It is very useful for working class who can forward their ideas and get instant response. Apart from conecting to friends and family it helps you to connect to people having same taste or ideas.

I think twitter is quite different from blogging as you have only 140 character per tweet and it is only your friends or followers that would be able to access any information you place on the twitter page. Also, the social nature of twitter makes it attractive for lots of people in just to socialize or interact with others.

Read the public front-page that is like rank in the middle and having each single person silence to tell you, in 140 words or less, precisely what they are doing or believing at that instant. On Twitter, each action, thinking, incident, and so onward is apparently recorded.
