Payments as a Secure Service was designed to further commerce over the Internet via software which runs under Windows Vista. It was developed by the PASS Consortium, a group of leading financial institutions and payment service providers, to enable small businesses the ability to complete transactions from their desktop, as a service. [1]
Various applications of PASS include ones which enable a business computer to become a point-of-sale terminal for credit card processing, sending and receiving of online payments via email invoicing through PayPal,[2][3] posting payments automatically to an accounts receivable application, receiving purchase orders and creating invoice requests for large trading partners through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
IP Payments Framework, from IP Commerce, is the technology Behind PASS which ensures that all transactions are conducted securely over Internet Protocol (IP).
