PhiML is a markup language similar to XML. The language is meant to be smaller than XML and addresses some of XML's shortcomings. For instance, there is no difference between metadata and data in PhiML.[1]
XML can be transformed directly into PhiML. However, when translating from PhiML to XML one must decide if any of the data present would best be presented as metadata.
